JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Pittsburgh-based Primanti Bros. is coming to Johnstown.
Pennswood Commercial Realty, an Altoona-based commercial real estate broker, announced late Monday that a lease has been signed with the regional restaurant chain at the former LoneStar Steakhouse & Saloon on Galleria Drive in Richland Township. The property is owned by BVB Properties in Charlotte, N.C.
Primanti Bros., known for signature sandwiches of grilled meat and french fries, currently has 41 locations including in Altoona and State College.
In a press release from the restaurant chain Tuesday, Primanti Bros. confirmed the news saying the new location is set to open late this year or early 2020. Bob Varner of Pennswood Commercial Realty said Primanti's will have to get final approvals on their remodeling plan from Richland Township.
The Johnstown location will employ over 75 people that include bartenders, kitchen staff, and servers, the company says. Adam Golomb, Chief Marketing Officer for Primanti Bros., told 6 News they already had someone apply to work there.
“You wanted us, Johnstown, and you got us,” said president and CEO David Head. “All of us are ecstatic to be bringing the Primanti Bros. experience here. And, we’re especially honored to become a part of the Johnstown community.”
Primanti Bros. has more than doubled its restaurants since 2013 and now has locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Michigan, and Indiana, says the company.
