UNIVERSITY PARK – Usually after a Penn State football game, the big concern is the tons of trash left behind. But due to heavy rainfall, now there are unattended vehicles left in parking lots.

Every game weekend, authorities see trash left behind from tailgates before the Penn State football games -- but this weekend, it was different.

"Since the football game was over and all the rain, we've been getting a lot of calls," said Graham’s Tow truck driver, Sean Dunlap.

Calls about vehicles being stuck on campus, around the football field and in the parking lots.

"So we've been going up and pulling them out and trying to tow them out. Whatever we have to do just to get them out of the mud," said Dunlap.

With big crowds and bad weather, it tends to get messy, and extra workers were called in to help.

"At least 10 calls within two hours. And with three drivers, that's kind of hard because everyone wants to do it now, now, now," said Graham’s tow truck employee John Young.

One tow truck driver tells me-- winter weather along with rain in grass parking lots makes a simple job a lot harder.

"Overnight we had a couple and so far today we've had a couple. Two of our guys had to get vehicles from up in one of the lots, parking lots, and they had to take them out of town,” said Dunlap. “So I'll be the third one working."

It was a job so big, multiple towing services were needed to help with the number of cars left behind -- even an RV.

"To pull an RV out, we are not capable of doing that, we don't have big enough machinery. But they did call in another towing service that has bigger machinery and they were able to pull the RV out,” said Dunlap. “I know there's been a couple of RVs pulled out for the same reason as vehicles, -- they're just heavy and get down in the mud and they just can't go anywhere."

According to authorities, the best advice for drivers is to be patient. One tow truck driver told me he has been in this parking lot on call since 3 a.m. due to the amount of stuck vehicles.
