As of Tuesday, Penn Highlands Tyrone officials say they have zero COVID-19 patients.

They haven't had any virus patients for about the past month and a half.

Prior to that, they were averaging three or four per day.

But officials say they’re worried about holiday activities leading to a predicted spike in cases.

They say they feel they're ready to serve and care for COVID patients if need be.

"We have weekly calls to help coordinate care of those patients between our facilities,” explains CEO Anna Anna. “If we can't meet the needs of someone here, then there are conversations happening 'where can that patient go to get the care that they need?' We are prepared and ready to meet those needs."

Other Penn Highlands hospital locations in our viewing area are in Huntingdon, Brookville, Clearfield, Saint Marys, and DuBois.

Patients are also able to use other hospitals nearby such as Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College and UPMC Altoona for COVID treatment.
