Officials check air quality in Philadelphia following large junkyard fire

PHILADELPHIA (WCAU) — The air quality in parts of Philadelphia was being checked Wednesday after huge junkyard fire broke out Tuesday night. The massive black smoke plume could be seen for miles as 100 firefighters responded to the fire. The fire caused delays and cancelations for riders of Amtrak and SEPTA. City officials warned residents in nearby neighborhoods to avoid going outside, and if so, wear a mask and close their windows.

Volleyball tournament to raise money for local high school volleyball teams

The 2nd annual Appalachian Winter Classic volleyball tournament began Saturday looking to raise money for two local high school programs according to the organizers. Owner of Appalachian All-Star Volleyball Joseph Camut said proceeds this year are going toward supporting the Forest Hills boys volleyball and Portage girls volleyball teams. Wardens seek clues after trespasser caught on camera in closed Montana wildlife area

'Miracle baby' Eli, born without a nose, dies at 2

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) - The story of an Alabama baby boy, who was born without a nose, captured hearts across the country but now many are mourning his death. Eli Thompson's big smile and positive disposition showed the exceptional spirit of a little boy born with big challenges. Eli was born in 2015 with congenital Arhinia, an extremely rare condition which causes the absence of a nose, nasal or sinus cavities.

A Middle Taylor Township road continues to cause issues for a local wedding venue

In Cambria County, some people are not happy with the condition of some of the roads in Middle Taylor Township. One couple says recent grant money awarded to the township was supposed to fix some of those roads, including one that leads to their wedding venue, but they say now the township is using that money to fix other roads in the same area. Edana and David Glessner tell Channel 6 they have become frustrated with Middle Taylor Township as they say they are losing business because of the road that leads to their wedding venue.
