Pittsburgh, Pa (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Penguins are back home following a six game road trip and will play host to the Washington Capitals Sunday afternoon.
Pittsburgh is 2-0 against Washington so far this season, defeating the Caps in extra time in both games three and four of the season.
The Pens are two points behind Washington in the standings and a win in regulation would move them into a tie for third place in the East Division.
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Farmers and others in agriculture-related industries are lobbying for a state veterinary lab to be set up in western Pennsylvania.
The state has three animal testing labs, including one at Penn State, which are vital in providing quick testing services during an outbreak of potentially dangerous diseases, such as avian flu.
The labs also provide training and employment opportunities, but the other two labs in Pennsylvania are east of Penn State, and the state's Secretary of Agriculture says western Pennsylvania farmers deserve better, and quicker access to testing services.
BLACKLICK TOWNSHIP – A 33-year-old Nanty Glo man who died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night has been identified as Joshua Reesey.
Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said Monday an autopsy revealed that Reesey died of blunt force trauma.
The manner of death was ruled accidental.
Lees said toxicology tests are pending.
State police in Ebensburg said Reesey crashed into a tree in the 1400 block of Beulah Road in Blacklick Township at approximately 11:20 p.

When the massive wall of water and debris reached Johnstown, it killed indiscriminately, claiming the lives of over 2,200 men, women and children and destroying an entire city.
BEDFORD, Pa. - Parents of students at the Saint Thomas School in Bedford have sent a notice to Father Richard Tomkosky claiming he violated Canon Law over the decision to close the school at the end of the academic year.
The notice is dated March 28 and says that officials decided to close the school January 4.
Diocese officials said in January the decision was made due to financial concerns and declining enrollment.
