Fire crews battle late-night fire in Alum Bank

ALUM BANK, Pa. (WJAC) — According to Bedford County Dispatch, fire crews battled a house fire late Thursday night in Alum Bank. Dispatchers said they received a call for a fire on the 300 block of Wayne Boulevard, just after 10 p.m. Dispatchers told 6 News the residents were home at the time, however no injuries were reported. J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital adds program to better serve Huntingdon County community

HUNTINGDON– Huntingdon County residents may no longer have to travel far to seek cancer treatment. J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital is adding a cancer treatment program in the new year. Some staff members at the hospital said they've been waiting over 25 years for this program. "I just think it's exciting," director of nursing Joye Gingruch said. "I'm really excited, very excited," director of medical patients Linda Gibbs said. "We continue to look at what specialist, what services that the community needs and this has been on our radar for a few years,” hospital CEO Adam Dimm said.

Johnstown Redevelopment Authority can't operate sewer system

JOHNSTOWN -- In a lawsuit filed with the Court of Common Pleas in Cambria County, Westmont resident Willeam Choby alleged that the Johnstown Redevelopment Authority isn't allowed to operate the sewer system, something they currently do for 20 different municipalities in the Greater Johnstown area. The lawsuit also names Westmont Borough as requiring property owners to do expensive testing and retrofitting on their sewer lines when they move out, something the lawsuit says people in nearby boroughs and townships are not required to do.
