WASHINGTON (TND) — The Biden administration is preparing an executive action which would temporarily shut down the nation’s southern border, according to PBS NewsHour. President Joe Biden will reportedly use a section of U.S. immigration law known as 212(f), which gives the president authority to temporarily suspend the entry of immigrants to the U.S. This approach aligns with language included in the most recent bipartisan border measure that failed in the Senate last week.

City working to repair, upgrade aging playgrounds throughout Johnstown

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Local officials say work is underway to replace some of Johnstown’s aging playground equipment. On Tuesday, crews were seen tearing down the wooden playground on Village Street in Johnstown’s Moxham neighborhood. City manager Ethan Imhoff says they're working to rebuild the park with new equipment once the weather breaks. He says work also includes the city's Somerset Street playground and the Sandyvale Park, although that work will mostly include adding new equipment to those playgrounds.

Galleria hosts annual Megashow

The annual Megashow Home, Garden and Business Expo is this weekend in Cambria County. The three-day event is being held on the lower level of the Johnstown Galleria. There are more than 100 vendors who will be holding demonstrations, home improvement ideas, prize drawings and more. The event is free to the public. Somerset woman charged after late-night police chase ends in arrest

A 26-year-old Somerset woman has been charged after she allegedly led police on a late-night chase Tuesday. According to a probable-cause affidavit, just after 11 p.m. Conemaugh Township police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Erica Barkman, of Somerset, at the Go Moore Store along Woodstown Highway. The vehicle then took off toward state Route 219, according to the affidavit. Windber and state police departments were called to assist in the pursuit.
