Man tries to sneak a 58-inch TV out of Walmart

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A man who tried to do some Christmas shopping at a Walmart in Port St. Lucie is now in the slammer, in part because some deputies were also doing some Christmas shopping for kids. Police say James Walsh tried to walk out of Walmart with a 58-inch television on Monday. Unfortunately, he didn't pay for it. Surveillance cameras followed the shoplifting suspect as he strolled around the store with the huge TV box in his shopping cart.

Thunder in the Valley is back in Johnstown for the 25th anniversary

Thunder in the Valley is back for the 25th year in a row. 6 News spoke with one of the event organizers who says things are ramped up this years special event. “It’s our 25th year,” said Jayne Korenoski, the Director of advertising and sales with Visit Johnstown. Korenoski tells Channel 6 she can’t believe the 25th anniversary of Thunder in the Valley is already here.

West Decatur couple charged after overdosing at Blair Co. Sheetz

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Altoona Police Department say a Clearfield County couple is facing child endangerment charges after they reportedly overdosed at a Blair County Sheetz over the weekend. Police say officers were dispatched to the store along East 25th Ave. around 8 p.m. Friday night for a report of an unconscious individual. Investigators say the unconscious male, identified as 30-year-old Jeffrey Hankerson II, was found lying on the floor of the store.

Cause of death released after mother, son fall at Petco Park

SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego police have determined the causes of death of a 40-year-old woman and her 2-year-old son who plunged from the third level of San Diego’s Petco Park, just as thousands of baseball fans were heading inside for a Padres game last year. Raquel Wilkins’ death on Sept. 25, 2021, has been classified as a suicide, and her son Denzel Browning-Wilkins’ death has been classified as a homicide, the San Diego Police Department said in a statement Wednesday.
