Lori Vallow Daybell returns to jail to await sentencing

MADISON COUNTY, Idaho (KBOI) — Lori Vallow Daybell has been transferred back to the Madison County Jail to await sentencing after beingfound guilty on all counts. Judge Boyce noted that a trial of this size and scope can take some time for a sentencing investigation to be concluded, saying it would likely be two to three months before the sentencing hearing is scheduled. Chad Daybell is still awaiting a trial date.

Man buys Coney Island water slide

CINCINNATI (WKRC) — When news broke that Coney Island in Cincinnati would close for good in December of 2023, many in the Tri-State were devastated, but Adam Woltermann decided to take action, in an effort to preserve at least part of the historic park. "I don't know," said Woltermann. "I like to keep things interesting and it was a cool, fun, unique piece." The Silver Bullet water slide, built in 1945, was set for demolition, along with the rest of Sunlite Pool - that is, until Woltermann stepped in.

Altoona's Lakemont Park to close this summer for renovations

ALTOONA – Lakemont Park will be closed for renovations this summer, but will reopen on Friday, Nov. 17, for the 21st annual Holiday Lights On The Lake, officials said Tuesday. Changes planned for Lakemont Park include replacing some of the older amusement rides with a new miniature golf course, batting cages, playgrounds, basketball and sand volleyball courts and expanded picnic areas, while keeping and enhancing attractions such as the waterpark, paddle boats, train, roller coasters, antique cars and go-karts.

Local high schooler Jax Forrest wins opening round of USA Olympic Wrestling Trials

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Bryce Jordan Center is hosting the United States Olympic wrestling trials this weekend. Men and women in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling are competing for the chance to represent the USA in Paris this summer. Seventeen former and current Penn State wrestlers will compete this weekend. The trials started at 10 a.m. on Friday and several Nittany Lions have already advanced to the second round.

Longtime Cambria County Sheriff Bob Kolar has died

EBENSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Cambria County Sheriff Bob Kolar, who was elected to six terms over a span of more than 20 years, has died. His death was first confirmed to 6 News by Cambria County Commissioner Tom Chernisky. A Facebook post on the Sheriff's Office website says he died Wednesday night. "Always able to put a smile on your face, Sheriff Kolar served Cambria County with pride and fairness and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him,"
