Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — The Everett Railroad Company, located in Hollidaysburg, opened it’s annual Santa Train excursions Friday. The train rides offer an early opportunity for families to get in the holiday spirit plus, kids will get a personal visit from Santa. The workers at the railroad spent several weeks preparing for the excursions, and they say that they’re just as excited for the rides to start as the community it.

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A special mass was held in our region Sunday to honor local first responders during National Correction Officers and National Police Week. Holy Spirit Parish in DuBois was the host of this year’s “Blue Mass” in Clearfield County. According to Father Ben Daghir, this is celebrated annually, going on since the 1930's, in the catholic church. State troopers, firefighters, correctional officers, and other first responders in attendance were honored throughout the service.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A judge is expected to hear the case next week of a mail-in-vote challenge in Centre County, where close to one hundred mail-in ballots from the recent primary election are under review. At this week’s Centre County election board meeting, it was announced that a court suit was filed over the validity of 95 mail-in election ballots which is holding up certifying the county’s primary election results.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia police officer was shot and killed and a second officer was wounded when they confronted people breaking into a car at Philadelphia International Airport, police said. A person who was brought to a hospital privately and died there may have been involved in the Thursday night shooting but investigators haven't confirmed that, interim Police Commissioner John Stanford said at a late-night news conference. Stanford said the officers were arriving at work and were parked in the garage shortly after 11 p.
