WASHINGTON (TND) — A Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Atlanta to Barcelona was forced to turn around Friday night after a passenger had a severe bout of diarrhea.
A DL 194 pilot could be heard telling air traffic control "It's just a biohazard issue, we had a passenger who had diarrhea all the way through the airplane so they want us to come back to Atlanta."
Data from FlightAware shows the Airbus 350 arrived back at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport a little more than two hours after it departed.
"Delta flight 194 on Sept. 1 from Atlanta to Barcelona returned to Atlanta following an onboard medical issue," a Delta spokesperson said. "Our teams worked as quickly and as safely as possible to get our customers to their final destinations. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans."
The identity of the passenger has not been released and Delta did not confirm if the person returned to the flight to go to Barcelona.
