The Everett Railroad Company, located in Hollidaysburg, opened it’s annual Santa Train excursions Friday.

The train rides offer an early opportunity for families to get in the holiday spirit plus, kids will get a personal visit from Santa.

The workers at the railroad spent several weeks preparing for the excursions, and they say that they’re just as excited for the rides to start as the community it.

Aside from Santa, the star of the show is a nearly 100 year old steam engine that "comes to life" to haul the passenger cars.

Everett Railroad’s Santa Express train runs every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday though December 18th.

All weekend ride tickets are sold out, but the staff says that they have approximately 2,000 tickets available for the Thursday and Friday rides.
